  1. Basically what GP is doing but MS has more money.

  2. I don’t have the epic launcher because I don’t want my information funneled to the Chinese government.

  3. Thank you fortnite kids and fortnite parents who used their credit cards to pay for all this, supporting gaming community

  4. Turns out this was all propeganda for epic 😂😂 skills up leaks shows they spent about 11 mill total they litrally only sold the coffee machine.

  5. For some reason when a game is free i lose interest in it lol

  6. Socialism in a nutshell. Throw lots of resources/money at a problem and give out lots of free stuff to make people happy. Then they ask "Why did it fail?"

A Capitalist will say "It's obvious my son. When society runs off profits, no one operates a business in a way that it isn't making profit, which equals less waste."

  7. Ayyy you ain't losing nothing tho if no one was gonna buy it anyways lol

  8. I wonder what EGS would look like if they spent hundreds of millions of dollars on improving their store instead of things that provide no value to the consumer?

  9. I got like 80 free games so far from epic lol, a good 10 free AAA games

  10. Epic has been consistently making intelligent business moves and they know it. They're playing a longer game than apparently many people see.

There's a reason developers are loving it and getting excited for it. And why sony invested 200 million into it.

I think where the disparity is in a consumer mindset vs a developer mindset. In 10 years players will see the benefit of all of Epic's latest technology, and aquisitions, as well as it's investment in gaining market share.

People assume they're trying to beat Steam within the first 5 years of launching despite the store being just one revenue stream and company focus. That's absolutely insane…

Epic store may never reach the same as steam, and they don't have to be.

There's a big difference between an investment and a loss. The short term mindset is what people are shitting themselves here for.

    It kinda boggles my mind.

  11. The number of morons who love a monopoly that hurts developers in this comment section is disheartening.

  12. just went to epic for KH litearlly nothing else

  13. Dead store as soon as Fortnite finally dries up.

  14. I have made this point before, but… When Steam launched it was the best by default. Even at it's worst, it was still the best/only option out there. Epic Games has the money to get this done and get it done quick, so, why? That's the question for me, why aren't they throwing money at coders to make it comparable to Steam. I don't care which obscenely rich person that I buy games from, so, I don't really care which icon I click on, to start my game.
Eipic's response to this was weird and confusing to me. Apple just proved how much money you are losing, your reply to this is that we sold 265 million in 3rd party games? What in the actual fu…?
The argument that Steam wasn't the greatest doesn't hold any weight for me, it's a different monster altogether.
. Have a great day everyone!

  15. Lol I hope it dissapears from the face of the earth. Chivalry 2 is an epic games exclusive, and that pisses me off because it means I won't get to play it for a year.

  16. C'mon, Epic. You did shopping cart with Unreal asset store. Now just copy paste that over, is that hard?

  17. Its got next to no features, has (or had, havent used it in a while) bugs and is basically spyware. How surprising.

  18. Epic is agressively anti-Linux, while valve helps to fund developments in Linux gaming.

  19. hello, im sorry i just want to ask regarding your opinion on the epic vs apple lawsuit, who do you think is gonna win this? thanks!

  20. I completely wrote off Epic as soon as they took their first exclusive. That is not a business practice i want to encourage, so I'll vote with my wallet.

  21. 1. Opening a game on EPIC is like opening two games at once and watching which one works 1st.
    2. Most of the times, to put a game in wishlist, you actually have to open and go to it's page.
    3. It weirdly changes colors of interface at different game pages.
    I can literally go on….
It's is far from competing from steam…..
Although their reason is somewhat fine for trying to get to steam, their focus is not on the important stuff……

  22. Me who has gotten ever free Epic store game without buying game from the store.

    Interesting

  23. If I'm buying something from a marketplace other than Steam, it's going to be GOG because they have stuff other places don't and the lack of DRM; definitely not Epic.

  24. Epic game store is a virus anywhere you can you find it and you think with all the cpu and gpu miners they Installed

  25. I got Borderlands 3 on Epic "for free" with my CPU. bought it on Steam with DLCs on Sale not long after.

  26. i know many people who just play games and dont care about the features in steam

  27. 'But Steam didn't used to have anything worthwhile either, clearly they're competing with 2003 Steam!'
No, no they are not, they are competing against Steam of 2021, this is due to the linear nature of time.
Please don't make me explain the linear nature of time that you live in.
That won't be fun for either of us.
I try to be friendly but using that excuse to attack me for not immediately switching really frustrates me, it just makes no sense.

  28. Half Life 3 as a Steam exclusive will be a big kick in the nuts to Epic Games Store when it releases.

  29. Why do people call it steam competitor? I call it bad joke which holds for more long than is healthy and it makes it even worse joke

  30. Only ever bought one game on EPIC and that was GTA V the week before it was free 😒😑

  31. They better hope nothing comes along to take fortnite's place in popularity for the next few years.

  32. The store sadly is shit. I can search games at a particular price and genre on steam as well as by discount amount. I can’t do that on Epic

  33. Almost no one is buying their exclusives, that's why they do garuanteed sales to games they snipe because the devs know this too then hold for the steam release.
The flounder on steam too though once reviews are out and a years passed killing the hype.

  34. Epic makes billions just with Fortnite which is much higher than wat Steam makes with its multi player games…… Epic right now can afford to lose some 100 millions in order for a better future as long as fortnite doesn't bite the dust…… Anyway am supporting epic on this and hoping they'll see greater gains in the future……

  35. epic could give away every game on EGS and i still wouldn't touch them,i don't own a EGS account or any of the games they gave away.

  36. lmao feelsbadman. really do appreciate the free games though

  37. Man, if there's something funny in this world is seeing people fighting about mega corporations.
Epic, Steam whatever, I pick free good games and buy others with some stupid cheap prices and just go with it.
Those games aren't even ours anyway, it's a service.
The only market I would say is really good is GOG.
Another thing I really don't understand at all is the "muh epic/gog doesn't have profile and social stuff" shit
Are you playing to have fun or you just want to CONSUMEEEEEEEEEEEE and show off

  38. I have my own ignorant admitted reasons why I don't use Epic but competition while good exclusives well it can backfire Steam does need something to wake them up just not sure what it will take.

  39. I prefer steam then Epic Games store chinas scam.

  40. Do you know all I ever hear from people now is oh you should get epic because you get loads of free games! Tired of it.

  41. I really don't think Epic can possibly hope to take on Steam until their store and launcher gets as good if not better, which it's still a far cry from being.
